The Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA) is launching Finding the Story, a three part online media series for African journalists who want to report on food systems with greater depth and confidence. Convened under the My Food Is African campaign, the series pairs participants with agroecology specialists, policy advocates and movement leaders to explore what is really at stake in African food systems, and how to recognise a story worth telling.
Twenty places are open to practising journalists based in Africa, working in print, online, radio, television or multimedia, who can attend all three one hour sessions and are comfortable in English and French. Sessions run online on Monday 21, Wednesday 23 and Friday 25 September 2026, covering agroecology, seed and land rights, and the money behind African food systems. Selected journalists receive a reference materials pack, a certificate, and a USD 150 stipend on completion.
