Call for sign-ons: Support farmers’ seed rights legal framework

Please sign on to show your organisation’s support for a proposed legal framework to protect farmers’ seed rights and promote farmer-managed seed systems.

The framework aims to recognise and protect the rights of farmers to define rules for the organization of their seed activities according to their practices and customs. It will allow farmers to continue to play their crucial role in the selection, diversification, maintenance and development of agricultural biodiversity, which are crucial for sustainable food systems.

This legal framework has been developed through farmer dialogues in several African countries facilitated by AFSA, ASPSP, ATP, BIBA Kenya, COPAGEN and RWA.
