We are pleased to announce a new opportunity under the Transforming African Food Systems to Sustainability (TAFS) initiative, implemented by the Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA) with support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
AFSA is commissioning a consultancy to develop communication campaign materials and messaging on agroecological products cross-border trade in the East African Community (EAC). This effort is part of our broader campaign, My Food is African, and aims to strengthen citizen awareness, policy influence, and stakeholder engagement in advancing agroecological trade integration across Eastern Africa.
The consultant will be responsible for developing a compelling communications strategy, producing creative content (infographics, fact sheets, social media materials, short videos, radio scripts, etc.), and proposing a dissemination and advocacy plan. The campaign will elevate agroecological trade as a driver of food sovereignty, climate justice, and economic resilience — particularly for smallholders, women, and youth.
We invite qualified firms or individuals with expertise in communications, agroecology, regional trade, and public campaigns to submit technical and financial proposals no later than 5:00 PM EAT on 24 September 2025. The email subject line should read: “Proposal to Develop Communication Campaign Materials and Messaging on Agroecological Products Cross Border Trade in the East African Community (EAC)”
