AFSA Seed Working Group brings together individuals and organizations from across the continent. They are Anti GMO, against restrictive seed trade regimes such as UPOV, and are broadly engaged in resisting corporate takeover of African Seed and Food Systems, while scaling up the rich diversity of farmer-managed seed systems alongside the cultures and various social values they are related to.
AFSA Seed Working Group’s goal is to be a continental platform that influences International, Continental, Regional and National Seed legislation and policy outcomes, and identifies and develops grassroots solutions with small-scale farmers, towards seed sovereignty.
